01 · The problem

Keys don't scale.

Most buildings we walk into are running on brass. Nobody knows how many copies of the front door key exist, the one person who knows the alarm code is on vacation, and a departing employee means either trusting them or paying a locksmith to rekey every cylinder.

Then there's the version that's worse: a system that was installed once, by someone who has since moved on, and now nobody can add a user. The software runs on a PC under a desk. Support means calling a number that no longer answers.

02 · What we install

One platform, one console, one number to call.

We build door access on Ubiquiti UniFi Access. It runs on the same UniFi platform as the network and cameras we already deploy, which means one console instead of three, no per-door cloud subscription, and hardware you can actually buy again in five years.

We handle the whole job: site walk, door hardware, low-voltage cabling, readers, controllers, power, fire-alarm interface, and the software configuration behind it. Then we keep administering it, or we train your team to, whichever you'd rather.

Someone leaves, you revoke access from a browser. No locksmith, no rekeying, no collecting anything.

Know what happened at the door.

Every unlock, denial, and door-held-open event is logged and tied to a person, and paired with camera footage from the same console.

Different doors, different rules.

Front lobby unlocks at 7:30 and locks at 6. The server room never unlocks on a schedule and only opens for four people.

Card, fob, and mobile unlock

Staff use a badge, a keypad code, or their phone over NFC or Bluetooth. Visitors and contractors get a PIN that expires on its own.

Controllers & PoE readers

One cable per door for data and power. Readers come in surface, mullion, and touchscreen styles, indoor or weather-rated.

Schedules, groups, and lockdown

Access by role and time of day, plus a one-tap lockdown that secures every door on the property at once.

Camera pairing

Each door links to a UniFi Protect camera, so an alert comes with the clip attached instead of just a timestamp.

Fail-safe or fail-secure by door

We spec electric strikes, maglocks, and electrified hardware per opening, tied into the fire alarm so egress works when it has to.

Multi-site under one console

Every location, every door, one login — with the same standard applied at the site you open next.

Code and life safety

Access control touches life safety. Every opening we install includes a request-to-exit device and, where required, an ADA push button and fire-alarm release, so people can always get out even if the system loses power or network. We pull the low-voltage work to code and coordinate with your door hardware and fire vendors instead of leaving you to referee.

06 · FAQ

Common questions

Can you use our existing doors and hardware?

Usually. Most commercial doors can take an electric strike or electrified hardware without replacing the door. We confirm on the site walk and tell you which openings need new hardware before you commit.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Doors keep working. Credentials and schedules are stored locally on the controller. You lose remote administration and live alerts until the connection returns, not the ability to get in.

Do people get locked in during a power outage or fire?

No. Egress hardware is mechanical and the system releases on fire alarm. Getting out never depends on power or network.

Can we use phones instead of cards?

Yes. Mobile credentials work over NFC or Bluetooth, and most clients run a mix: phones for staff, cards or fobs for contractors and anyone who'd rather not install an app.

Is there a monthly fee per door?

Not with the UniFi platform we deploy. There's no per-door license. If you want us administering the system and handling adds, changes, and removals, that's part of a managed agreement.

How many doors is worth doing?

One is worth doing if it's the right door. Exterior entrances, server rooms, and record storage are where most clients start, then expand.

Do you serve our area?

Cache Valley, Box Elder County, the Wasatch Front, and southern Idaho — Logan, Hyde Park, Smithfield, Brigham City, Tremonton, Preston, and out from there, with our own crew traveling further for the right project. Low-voltage work is our own crew, not a subcontractor.
